Lundu Orchid FlowerLundu Orchid Flower

The specific name for this orchid is Phalaenopsis Bellina and is from the Lundu District. This orchid is known as Kambang Alo among the Lundu Bidayuh Salako community. This orchid can be found a lot growing in the foothills around the area once before which was famous for its natural forest. This species of orchid is particularly fond of low-light shade around the river. However, this species is rarely found today due to its original habitat factor being disrupted by local development and oil palm cultivation activities.

Her beauty and popularity has led to her being renamed to Normah Orchid in conjunction with the wife of the fourth Sarawak Governor Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Hajjah Normah Abdullah. This orchid has become the official flower of the State of Sarawak.

These orchids are small in size of about four to five centimeters and are arranged in two order. It has a green petal flower and is sent to its site. The interior is dark purple. This species of flower is very famous for its beautiful color.

These orchids can be found on the islands of Borneo, Peninsular Malaysia and Sumatra.
